THE Southern Trust’s Domiciliary Care teams have been celebrating after winning the Northern Ireland Health and Social Care Quality Award.

Angela McVeigh, Director of Older People and Primary Care, and Melanie Clements, Assistant Director of Older People for the Southern Trust joined domiciliary care staff from Craigavon and Banbridge to celebrate their recent success.

Angela said: “I am delighted our in-house domiciliary care service has won the HSC Quality Award. I would like to pay tribute to everyone involved in helping to achieve this Award, in particular, the Domiciliary Care workers who provide personal and practical care to support approximately 3000 people to live independently in their own homes every day. In addition, the administrative staff, supervisors and three managers all ensure we deliver the right worker to the right client at the right time and with the right skills.

“It is a great achievement for our domiciliary care staff to be recognised regionally for their commitment and dedication to embracing change and new ways of working to improve the quality of care they provide every day to their clients living at home.

“Finally I would like to congratulate the domiciliary care staff on receiving this award which recognises their hard work, achievements and high level of dedication to continually delivering improved services.”
