Deaths in the community

Angela Vige

The death took place peacefully at Iveagh House, Banbridge, on January 29 of Angela Vige, nee Corey, formerly of Filbin Crescent, Lurgan.

She was the mother of Audrey, Paul, Jacqueline, Andrea and the late Gerald.

Also regretted by brother Basil Corey, nephews and nieces Tony, Stewart, Sheila, Edmund, Louise, Gavin, Caroline, Joannah and Danielle and families.

Her funeral was last Thursday to St Peter’s Church with interment in Dougher Cemetery.

Desmond Bell

The death took place suddenly at home on January 30 of Desmond (Dessie) Bell, Castleview, Gilford.

He was the father of Karen, granda of Ryan and Kieran and brother of June, Brian and the late Keith.

His funeral service was on Monday in Malcomson’s Funeral Home, Lurgan, followed by cremation.

Evan Hewitt

Evan Hewitt, husband of the late Jean, Queen Street, Lurgan, died peacefully on January 30.

He was the father of Reggie, Gerald and Janet.

His funeral was on Friday to First Lurgan Presbyterian Church with interment in Lurgan Cemetery.

Ronald Gilchrist

The death took place peacefully at hospital on February 1 of Ronald (Ronnie) Gilchrist, husband of Janice, Riverdale Crescent, Milltown, Donaghcloney.

His funeral was on Monday to Holy Trinity Church, Waringstown, with interment in the adjoining churchyard.

Sarah Rita Donaldson

Sarah Rita Donaldson died peacefully at hospital on February 3.

Late of Greenhill Park she was formerly of Albert Street, Lurgan.

Regretted by brother Roy, sister Lottie, sister-in-law Grace, brother-in-law Jim, nephews, nieces and family circle.

Jerome Haughey

The death took place peacefully at Craigavon Area Hospital on February 2 of Jerome Haughey.

He was the husband of Selina Philomena, Lisnisky Nursing Home, Portadown, and formerly of Viewfield, Antrim Road, Lurgan.

He was the father of Caroline, Martin, Emma and Jane, grandpa of Ouassila, Anna, Adel, Hugo, Catherine, Patrick, Camille and Sean and father-in-law of Hocine, Claudine, Aidan and Patrick.

His funeral was on Wednesday to St Peter’s Church followed by interment in St Colman’s Cemetery.

Rose Larkin

Rose Larkin died peacefully at Craigavon Area Hospital on February 3.

She was the wife of Jackie, Oakleigh Fold, Lurgan.

She was the mother of Jim, Joanie, Rosemary, Paul, Leo, Colette, Joseph and Alan.

Her funeral was on Tuesday to St Peter’s Church with interment in St Colman’s Cemetery.

Patrick Whitla

Patrick Whitla died peacefully at home on February 2.

He was the son of Anthony and Tracey Whitla, Charles Street, Lurgan.

The brother of Curtis and Dylan he was the grandson of Tony and Fiona Whitla and Roisin and the late Patrick McGahan.

His funeral was on Monday to St Paul’s Church with interment in St Colman’s Cemetery.

Catherine Hayes

The death took place peacefully on February 4 at the Southern Area Hospice, surrounded by family and friends, of Catherine (Kay) Hayes, Churchview, Laurencetown.

She was the daughter of the late Laurence and Emma and sister of her twin Amelia, John and the late Roisin and Gerry.

Her funeral was on Wednesday to St Colman’s Church with interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Mary Metcalfe

Mary (May) Metcalfe died peacefully at Glenview Nursing Home on February 4.

Mother of Billy she was formerly of Trasna Way, Lurgan.

Also regretted by daughter-in-law Anne, grandchildren, great grandchildren and family circle.

Her funeral was on Wednesday to Hill Street Presbyterian Church with interment in Seagoe Cemetery.
