Deaths in the community for the period April 28 to May 1, 2009

Philomena Fox

The death took place peacefully at home on April 28 of Philomena Fox, nee McKeown, 61 Church Walk, Lurgan.

She was the wife of George and mother of Paul, Maura, Sharon and Brian.

Her funeral was on Thursday to St Peter's Church followed by interment in St Colman's Cemetery.

Patricia Jane Milton

The death took place peacefully at the Southern Area Hospice on April 25 of Patricia Jane (Pat) Milton, sister of Jennifer and the late Keith, 414 Enniskeen, Craigavon.

Her funeral was on Friday to St Saviour's Church, Craigavon, followed by commital at Roselawn Crematorium.

Thomas Hardy

The death took place peacefully at home on April 29 of Thomas Hardy, 111 Westacres, Craigavon, and formerly of Cliftonville Road, Belfast.

He was the husband of Catherine and father of Thomas, Katerina, Liam and Lee and the late Nicky.

His funeral was on Saturday to St Anthony's Church, Craigavon, followed by interment in St Colman's Cemetery, Lurgan.

Elizabeth Jane Haughey

The death took place peacefully at the Royal Victoria Hospital on April 30 of Elizabeth Jane (Jean) Haughey, Ballymoney and formerly of Antrim Road, Lurgan.

She was the wife of the late John (Johnny) and father of Eilish, Terry, Damian, Adrian, Paul, Gregory, Malachy, Declan, Regina, Francis, Del, Thomas, Mariel and the late Patsy.

Her funeral was on Sunday to St Peter's Church followed by interment in St Colman's Cemetery.

Hamilton John Young

The death took place on April 29 at his late residence of Hamilton John (Hammy) Young, 93 Roe's Green, Laurencetown.

He was the son of Frederick and Margaret, partner of Elizabeth, father of Shay and Simon and brother of Molly, Kate, Margaret, Jimmy, Artie, Leo and the late Jackie and Freddie.

His funeral was on Saturday to St Colman's Church followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Dorothy Irene Smyth

The death took place peacefully on April 30 at Lurgan Hospital of Dorothy Irene Smyth, 24 Boggle Hill Road, Gilford.

She was the wife of the late Howard and mother of Doris.

Her funeral was on Sunday to All Saints Parish Church, Tullylish, followed by interment in the adjoining churchyard.

James McCormick

The death took place on May 1 peacefully at hospital of James (Jim) McCormick, 5 Margretta Park, Lurgan.

He was the husband of Rhoda and father of David, Ruth and Trevor. His funeral was on Monday to Lurgan Gospel Hall followed by interment in Lurgan Cemetery.

Mary Kathleen Summerville

The death took place on May 1 peacefully at Aughnacloy House of Mary Kathleen Summerville, formerly of Hoophill Park, Lurgan.

She was the wife of the late William and mother of Joan and David.

House and funeral were private.

Mary Creaney

The death took place on May 1 peacefully at the Marie Curie Hospice of Mary (Daisy) Creaney, 33 Oakridge, Lurgan.

She was the daughter of the late Hugh and Elizabeth and sister of the late Jean.

Her funeral was on Sunday to St Peter’s Church followed by interment in St Colman’s Cemetery.

James Gormley

The death took place peacefully on May 2 at the Southern Area Hospice of James Gormley, 10 Legion Court, Banbridge, and formerly of Lavery Avenue, Lurgan.

He was the husband of the late Gretta and father of James and Rosemary. His funeral was on Monday to St Therese Church followed by interment in St Colman’s Cemetery, Lurgan.
