Bus shelter missing

THE search was on for a missing bus shelter in November 1974.

The mystery disappearance of the bus shelter, which cost over 400, baffled Craigavon Borough Council, which had made enquiries as to its whereabouts in the previous few weeks, but without success.

While the council had received an invoice for the shelter, which was to be put in Dollingstown, there was still no sign of it. The council's works manager told the council that they had been unable to trace it.

A local councillor had raised the matter and said: "I would like to see this shelter."

The council had ordered the shelter for Dollingstown in September 1973 after it had been agreed to use the 100 prize money the village had received from the 'Best Kept Village' contest to buy the structure.
