The quiz masters

ST Peter’s were crowned undisputed quiz masters of Lurgan in 1986.

For the second year in a row they won the town’s Round Table competition.

They saw off the challenge of the Beehive in a nail-biting two leg final.

After the first leg in the Ashburn Hotel St Peter’s were just in front by a 71-70 margin.

The second leg was held in the St Peter’s clubrooms and the hosts emerged as 64-58 victors and 135-128 overall winners.

A total of 23 teams entered the Round Table competition with all the proceeds going to locally based charities.
