TWO Lurgan boys played for the Northern Ireland YMCA football team in a British soccer tournament in Wales in 1967.

Sixteen year old Leslie White, of Larkfield Square, was goalkeeper and 18 year old Alvin McNally was right half and captain of the side.

The Ulster team beat England 1-0 but then lost 5-0 to Scotland who were the winners of the tournament.
