BELSONIC returns to Belfast's Custom House Square this August Bank Holiday weekend.
Dizzee Rascal, the London born rapper and producer, and recent chart topper with ‘Bonkers’, will headline on the opening night alongside New York City's Vampire Weekend, whose indie rock mixed with joyful Afro-pop-inspired melodies and rhythms was on
e of the defining sounds of the last year.
They top the bill on Belsonic 09’s opening night, Thursday, August 27.
Acclaimed Belgian duo 2Manydjs, the team behind Soulwax, will present their brand new live audio-visual production, which is closing summer festival stages across the UK and Europe this summer, on Friday, August 28.
Appearing alongside them is Canadian electro house super producer Deadmau5 and German wonderkid Boys Noize.
Northern Ireland’s very own Duke Special will curate Dukebox - a one day event in it’s own right within Belsonic - on Saturday, August 29. As well as a headlining appearance, it will feature friends and special guests from the world of music and other performance arts, including Irish chart topping rock band Bell X1.
Last year’s event won many plaudits from the concert going public and visiting performers, with the beautiful central location and the quality of the production and the services on site winning universal praise.
Tickets for the three days of Belsonic went on sale on Wednesday from Ticketmaster and their usual outlets, as well as from The Stiff Kitten. Each day is priced the same - £29 plus booking fees.
