LOCAL band Deal Again have brought a touch of Pink Floyd to their sound mixed with a hint of avant-garde.
Formed in 2008, by friends Jonathan Wilson, Gareth Haughey and Paul Ryan, the three piece instrumental band have a sound that is a cross between rock and heavy metal but with electronic influences.

The three guys were previous members of Shatter t
he Sun a five piece thrasher heavy metal act.

Jonathan told the 'MAIL': "I think our influences are very eclectic I listen to everything from classical to Country and Western, at the moment we are developing our sound, which is quite electronic at the minute.

"Our songs lend themselves to minimal singing, but we are open minded and if the right singer, either male or female, came along we would not turn talent away."

Jonathan, who has been playing since he was sixteen, is the band's drummer and is also responsible for writing the songs.

As a drummer he takes his inspiration from Lamb of God's Chris Adler and Danny Kerry from Tool, when writing songs Jonathan said: "The ideas are so varied they can come from the smallest thing, Gareth might have an idea and we would run with it."

Gareth has also been playing since he was sixteen and he told the 'MAIL': "I would describe our sound as very atmospheric almost melodic more so than any other rock bands, I have always wanted to make music it's not about the fame.

"You can still be a professional band and play medium size venues, so many bands just explode onto the scene and are never heard of again I would rather we had a cult following and were liked for our music."

Deal Again will be playing at Fa' Joes on March 25, as part of the bar's regular Thursday night Rock slot.
