SUMMER may have disappeared but the music festivals are still here.
You won't need your wellies and you can leave the tent at home. It's the season of the indoor festival.

After the success of last year's Asian theme, Dublin Electronic Arts Festival opens for its seventh year on Thursday, October 23.

With a focus on making the electronic arts more accessible, a total of 52 events will take place across Dublin city over four days, including talks, workshops and screenings of films such as the classic jazz documentary Sun Ra: A Joyful Noise.

Experimental improv veterans, Nurse With Wound, open proceedings with support from Stephen O'Malley, guitarist of doom band Sunn O))).

The festival, which is run by Irish music label D1 Recordings, prides itself on bringing the best in Irish-based electronic artists to new audiences.

The programme even contains a free 35-track cd featuring acts such as Sunken Foal and Belfast artist RL/VL, who were selected out of over 500 submissions.

The closing party in the Village and Whelans offers a range of electronic styles to suit everyone, from techno to IDM to dubstep. Detroit techno DJs will join Laurent Garnier and progressive duo F**k Buttons to bring the festival to an end on Sunday 26.

The programme can be seen at www.deaf.com and is available in City Discs, Tower Records, Road Records and Spindizzy Records, Dublin.
