Award winning songstress at gig
LUCY Wainwright Roche plays the Spring and Airbrake on Sunday.
She is the daughter of Loudon Wainwright III and Suzzy Roche (The Roches) and although not yet 30, Lucy has already won two prestigious songwriting contests and has had her music featured on national television and radio.
Lucy's 2008 release '8 More' is a continuation of her debut CD '8 Songs'. Her follow-up album, draws inspiration from traditional folk songs as well as rock and pop music and features the song 'Snare Drum' which won her first place in the singer-songwriter categories in both the USA Songwriting Contest and the Independent Music Awards.
She was selected as one of the winners of the 2008 Falcon Ridge Folk Festival Emerging Artist Showcase, and her music was recently featured on the NBC television show Lipstick Jungle.
