Craigavon has certainly got talent

PRIMARY school pupil Holly McConville has won the Craigavon's Got Talent competition.

Her song and dance routine of 'Wouldn't It Be Lovely' from the musical 'My Fair Lady' was a real crowd pleaser and the St Anthony's Primary School pupil assisted by Cormac Mallon, won over the judges to claim first place and win herself the 250 prize money.

Runner up was Lurgan gymnast Clara Devine who put in a spellbinding routine to earn herself 100. Joint third place went to Cailum Donnelly from Lurgan who performed a fantastic Michael Jackson dance routine with Gina Mackey also sharing third place. Gina performed her own song and performed live with her own guitar.

Other acts to get placed were the Linda May Martin Dancers, Courtney Morgan, Amy Leigh Lagan, Aimee McVeigh and Michael Morrow.

Show producer Kieran Corr thanked all the acts who took part from the audition process, both semi-finals and all the acts who performed in the final.

"I must say I really enjoyed the final with some fantastic performances and all the acts did themselves justice," he said.

"The judges had some tough decisions to make and some of the acts can count themselves unlucky for not making the top seven. I'm sure some of them were bitterly disappointed but that's what competition is all about. You have to accept the judges decision on the night. Who knows, another set of judges could have easily put Katie Cochrane, Emily Dempsey, Rebecca Lenaghan, K T Max Dancers and Ryan McNally along with a few other acts into the top seven such was the standard on stage.

"However, Holly and Clara were both outstanding on the night and I would like to congratulate both girls. The outcome of the show certainly proved that Craigavon has loads of talent."
