Dancing Shoes at Opera House

THE World Premiere of Dancing Shoes - The George Best Story opened last night (Wednesday) and runs until August 14 at The Grand Opera House, Belfast.

The musical play by Marie Jones, Martin Lynch, JJ Gilmour and Pat Gribben is directed by Peter Sheridan, (Shawshank Redemption, West End).

It features a strong cast of local actors including Aidan O’Neill, Paddy Jenkins, Marty Maguire, Conor Grimes, Packy Lee, Matthew McElhinney, Alana Kerr, Kerri Quinn and Maria Connolly.

Dancing Shoes - The George Best Story, tells of the turbulent and colourful life of one of the greatest footballers the world has ever seen.

From his childhood days kicking a tennis ball against a gable wall on the Cregagh estate to a life of fame, fortune and controversy, this story has it all.

Combining the talents of two of Northern Ireland’s most popular playwrights with the superb songwriting talents of Glasgow’s JJ Gilmour and Belfast’s Pat Gribben, Dancing Shoes is packed with great characters, beautiful songs and trademark Belfast humour.
