Lismore girls step up to the mark

THREE Lismore drama students have taken up director roles for the next production by Moyraverty Arts and Drama Society.

Erin Tennyson, Amy McConville and Courtney Harbinson have performed in principal roles over the years for the drama society and have been given the chance to direct their production of The Lion King.

Spokesperson of the drama group Kieran Corr explained: “The drama society over the years has always had strong links with all the local schools none more so than Lismore.

“Lismore School has a very strong drama and music departments and we are delighted to give these three girls who are GCSE drama students the chance to direct a show. What I have seen so far the girls are doing a great job and I am looking forward to seeing the show in March.”

Former Lismore Pupil and singing teacher Caitriona Corr is the musical director for the show and former Lismore pupil and qualified performing arts student Tammy Sharpe will be the choreographer for the production. Tickets for all four performances go on sale this week. Tickets at £5 can be purchased from St Anthony’s Centre and Print Business Supplies, Market Street, Lurgan. The show opens on Friday, March 1 and ends on Sunday, March 3.
