Top shows lined up

THE Waterfront Hall and Ulster Hall will celebrate the new year in style with a host of spectacular shows on offer.

The new West End blockbuster Stomp will be gracing the Waterfront stage from January 19 to 24.

With exhilarating routines and a mixture of dance drama and comedy this is one not to be missed.

Audiences can take a step back in time to glittering ballrooms with the Johann Strauss Gala on January 29.

Strictly Come Dancing keeps the dance magic alive with performances from the stars of the show on February 5.

Bryan Adams, Ronan Keating, Paul Potts, JLS, Chris Rea and Mika are all set to take centre stage, with performances from Paul Potts on January 14, Mika on February 13 and Chris Rea on April 5.

Celtic Connections Transatlantic Sessions will grace the Waterfront stage on 4 February and will be accompanied by local star Cara Dillon.

Liam Reilly and Bagatelle will perform on April 6 along with Mike Denver on March 13.

Vampires rock will perform February 6 while Talon The best of the Eagles Hotel California Tour will rock out on April 10.

All Dolly Parton fans can see her on February 7 and 8.

The Ulster Orchestra will perform showpieces such as New Year Viennese Concerts on February 8 and 9, Bryn Terfel on January 16 and James Bond Film Night, Febuary 20.

Magners Waterfront Comedy Club, will see performances from Lee Mack on February 27, Dave Gorman with his Sit Down, Pedal, Stop and Stand up tour, March 27, and Jimmy Carr from April 22 to 25, Dara O'Briain will also perform from May 4-6.

Yvette Fielding and her Most Haunted Team will take to the stage on January 28, Derren Brown will wow audiences with psychological illusion from April 12-14, Derek Acorah the UK's No One spirit medium will be there from March 6, while clairvoyant Lydia Lyne will pay a visit on Febuary 19.

At the newly refurbished Ulster Hall audiences can expect a performance from Newton Faulkner on Febuary 28.

Joan Armatrading writer and performer will be there from April 24, Abbamania will drop in from March 27.

Tommy Fleming will perform on January 16, the Three Tenors will perform some beautiful songs on March 6, Tom Baxter and Special Guests will celebrate the art of song writing at Belfast Nashville songwriters festival on February 27.

The Big Bands will be out in force on January 9 and the Ulster Orchestra will celebrate the legacy of Chopin on the 200th anniversary of his birth with selected dates in January and Febuary.

A packed Ulster Orchestra programme includes Russian Symphonies, February 12, Illuminations on March 5 , Beethoven and Spring, April 16, Vivalidi's Four Seasons, April 23, and Schumann and Brahms on March 12.

The Saint George's singers and sinfonia will provide a classical treat with Bach's Saint John Passion, a concert of Easter music, on March 30.

Base brings street art in from the cold transforming the Ulster Hall into an urban village from Febuary 20 to 21.
