Northern Ireland soccer international Gerry Taggart showed potential in another sport as a youngster in 1980.
As a swimmer he won gold medals in both the butterfly and freestyle events at the All-Ireland finals in Dublin.
He was a member of the Brownlow Swimming Club.
And he won a silver in the back crawl and a bronze in the butterfly in the South London Mighty Minnows Open.
Gerry is pictured here, aged ten, with other Brownlow swimmers, eight year old Lisa Taggart and 11 year old Thomas Houston.
