Students celebrate their outstanding achievements
SOUTHERN Regional College, Lurgan Campus recently held their annual graduation ceremony for over 400 people including learners and their families and friends. Guest speaker at the evening was Mr Stephen Blevins of Fields of Life.
In his address to the learners and their guests Mr Blevins commented: “As we celebrate your outstanding achievements here tonight and as many of you make plans for the months and years ahead, you have a huge doorway of opportunity opened – a real opportunity not only for personal success, but to be a success for those around you, in your contributions to this community, this country and this world.
“I commend you on your achievements as a college and as individuals. It is a real pleasure to have the opportunity to sincerely congratulate you as students and the staff of this college on the professionalism and the effort which has led to such great success.
“Whatever you do next, remember that the achievement of personal goals doesn’t always guarantee personal fulfilment. Never forget the importance of, or the rewards which can be gained, in serving those less fortunate and in highlighting the good that exists in all of us.”
Commenting on the students’ achievements Mr Wilbert McKee said: “I offer my sincere congratulations and warmest best wishes to each and every one of you. Through your determination, dedication and diligence, you have brought great credit to your family and friends, to Southern Regional College, but most significantly to yourselves. The range of personal achievements reflected in the awards is testimony to the effort and hard work of all the students, many of whom have combined the demands of a course with full time employment and family commitments. I would like to publicly acknowledge the hard work and dedication of the graduates and the staff of the College.”
Ms Geraldine McIvor concluded the ceremony by commenting: “Your success is our goal and I am delighted to see you all here tonight to celebrate your achievements. You have invested considerable time and effort in your course and I know that it will enhance your employment skills and assist you in furthering your careers. ”
