Retail plan to be revealed

THE details of the long-awaited Craigavon town centre retail plan will be revealed to the borough council on June 24 in the Civic Centre.
And, despite the protests of some councillors, the Planning Service is refusing to give them a briefing before that date.

The plan contains the retailing areas within the centre of Craigavon, and a letter from the planners to the council stated, “Due to the commercial sensitivity of the plan, details are not being made available to anyone, including the divisional planning manager."

After discussion, the council voted to accede to the request and host the launch without a prior meeting.
