FOLLOWING the spate of arson attacks within the Craigavon area local Assembly member John O'Dowd has called on those responsible to stop before they cause serious injury.
The Upper Bann MLA said: “Those responsible for these arson attacks need to take account of the potential danger presented by fire. Fire is unpredictable and to a large extent uncontrollable, you have only to look to the recent events in Banbridge, which left several families homeless within the space of a few minutes, to understand the inherent danger of such unthinking actions.”

Mr O’Dowd went on to call on the public to help stop this spate of arson.

“The burning of cars is in itself unjustifiable but the potential for serious injury to innocent people and the damage to property makes these acts totally reprehensible,” he said.

"Anyone with knowledge of these arson attacks or of the individuals who carried them out should have no hesitation in reporting the information to the PSNI before the arsonists cause serious injury or even worse a fatality.”
