Armed robbery at Sloan Street

A MEMBER of staff at a shop on Sloan Street in the town was threatened at knifepoint during a robbery on Thursday evening.
At around 8pm, two men armed with knives entered the premises, pushed a customer out of their way and demanded money from staff.
When one staff member refused, one of the robbers grabbed her by the arm and threatened her whilst his accomplice stole a small sum of cash from the till.
The two then fled on foot in the direction of the old Portadown Road.
The robbers had orange coloured fabric covering their faces, with eye-holes cut out.
They were also wearing hooded tops with the hoods pulled up and are believed to be around 20 years of age.
No one was injured during the incident
Detectives are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the robbery, particularly the male customer who was in the shop at the time.
