LEGAHORY residents have voiced their anger, again, at the Housing Executive.
The residents are angry over a new set of large boulders put in place around the homes in Burnside.
They have been placed in the area to stop Travellers illegally setting up camp on the grass areas around the estate.
However, this has forced th
e Travellers in the area to move onto the land surrounding homes in Legahory.
One resident said he could not believe this latest action, "The Housing Executive has gone out of its way to rid Burnside of all Travellers," he said.
"But all they did was move them from one illegal encampment to another - on our doorsteps."
He continued: "What the Executive has done in Burnside is a great job, they clearly spent thousands on the measures to stop the Travellers camping, but it does not go far enough.
"We are being treated as second class citizens and our pleas for help are falling on deaf ears. The residents in the estate are all going mad, in the evening this place resembles a building site there is so much noise and activity.
"We have been campaigning for years for the Housing Executive to do something and to help us out - but we are just ignored."
In a council meeting last month the Housing Executive was grilled by councillors over the Traveller issues in the area.
In response a representative for the Executive said it was focused on providing buffer zones between camp sites and houses. And an agreement was made to schedule a meeting between councillors and Housing Executive officials to further discuss the problem.
The Legahory resident continued: "They talk about buffer zones, but because we are not living in Housing Executive homes or on its land we are not considered.
"Look out my window and all you will see is generators, toilets and skips - there is no buffer zone."
The Housing Executive has an obligation to provide sites for Travellers in the community. A spokesman for the executive said: "The Housing Executive took action to block a portion of the Burnside estate which had been vacated by a number of Traveller families.
"In the longer term Housing Executive policy is to provide serviced sites for Traveller families in the Craigavon area. In the interim, ongoing consideration is being given for further bouldering where feasible."
