HOW do you lead your business? What part does innovation play in your success? Do you want to find out information on funding opportunities for your business? How can forming links with universities help further your business?
All of these questions and much more will be answered at the Mayor’s Business Conference, taking place on Thursday, May 29 from 1.30pm to 4.30pm at the civic centre – with special guest Will McKee.

Launched recently by the Mayor of Craigavon, Cou
ncillor Robert Smith and Mr McKee, the conference will focus on the importance of leadership and innovation for accelerated business growth.

As one of Ireland’s most experienced board directors, and chairman and non-executive director of a number of leading international companies, Mr McKee has over 30 years of hands-on entrepreneurial experience.

Having had roles of CEO, Director and Chairman of significant companies in a wide variety of sectors, Mr McKee’s outstanding achievements were awarded in July 2002 when he was awarded a Special Certificate from His Royal Highness, Prince Phillip.

His keynote speech will focus on leadership – understanding the importance of effective leadership, examining your own style and what steps can be taken to be a more effective and dynamic leader.

A variety of other guest speakers will also take to the stage to offer inspiration, advice and support including academics from Queen’s University and the University of Ulster and Directors from Invest NI and local company Ulster Carpets.

“We are delighted to be hosting this Business Conference,” commented the Mayor of Craigavon, Councillor Robert Smith.

“It is an exciting and rare opportunity to be able to have a number of influential business people in one room at the same time and to have them speak out about their own experiences and pass on advice and support to businesses here in Craigavon.”

This conference is designed for private sector organisations and is of particular interest to Chief Executives, Managing Directors and Chair Persons of SMEs.

If anyone would like more information, please contact Craigavon Borough Council’s Economic Development Officer, Elaine Cullen on 3831 2574 or email elaine.
