CUSTOMS agents swooped on a petrol station yesterday morning (Wednesday).
Agents for HM Revenue and Customs targeted the Fuel Stop in Flush Place around 11am.
The garage was targeted as part of an operation that hit four other garages in Belfast simultaneously. The station was cordoned off with tape while the agents conducted a number of tests.
"We are checking the fuel for signs of smuggling or laundering," said a spokesman for the HM Revenue and Customs on the scene.
"We will be conducting a series of tests on the fuel and on the tanks, we are not able to say if there is any problems with the fuel until they are completed.
"HM Revenue and Customs are constantly keeping an eye on what is happening on the forecourts across the entire UK."
The operation targeted four other garages in the Belfast area, HM Revenue and Customs drafted in extra staff to carry out the operation.
