THE annual Mini-Twelfth parade takes place in Lurgan this Friday night.
As has been the case for the last number of years it has been re-routed by the Parades Commission with the parade turning at the back of the War Memorial and does not proceed down William Street.

The Brethren of Lurgan District LOL No. 6 start pro
ceedings on Friday night with a short parade from Queen Street to Brownlow House at 7pm.

The main parade at 7.45pm from Brownlow House is expected to be attended by 20 bands. Also in attendance will be many visiting brethren and officers from throughout County Armagh along with the brethren of Lower Iveagh and members of the Independent Orange Institution.

The Mini-Twelfth parade will be the first district parade led by the new District Master, Bro David Martin and alongside him will be the new Deputy District Master, Bro Sam McCleary.

After the parade the lodges will return to Brownlow House where there will be a small bonfire to begin the Twelfth celebrations.

“As ever the officers and brethren are looking forward to the usual tremendous support of the people of Lurgan and indeed are praying for another peaceful and harmonious marching season,“ said Mr Martin.

Sunday, July 6 sees the annual Church Parade by LOL No. 6.

The parade begins at 2.30pm from Brownlow House and reaches Shankill Parish Church at 3pm. Following a church service the parade sets out for Brownlow House again at 4pm. There is expected to be 500 participants.

The annual church parade of LOL Magheralin also takes place this Sunday.

It begins at 3.15pm from Magheralin Orange Hall and is set to reach Magheralin Parish Church at 3.30pm. The return parade starts at 4.30pm.
