A great round from Phillip

PHILLIP Sheldon produced a remarkable round in last Wednesday’s sweep competition.

His round of seven under par contained an eagle, seven birdies and two bogeys. Needless to say this one handicapper won the gross on the day with a score of 64.

Phillip was to score his second eagle of the week in the Saturday competition.

In the section two players tied for first place on 45pts with Philip Henderson getting the verdict on countback from David Bingham.

Ken Bingham was third with 42pts from Peter Lilburn in fourth spot on 41pts. Philip had two great nines getting off to a great start with five pars on the trot. He finished his front nine with 21pts. Philip had six pars and two birdies on the back nine to finish with a level par back nine and 24pts on the way home the best of the day.

The Monday seniors competition is always a very closely fought competition.

Early starter Jackie Gilliland was the master of ceremonies on this occasion with 43pts from Patrick Magee in the runner spot on 40pts. Bill Henderson was close behind on 38 pts for third spot just a point ahead of Cecil Porter on 37 pts.
