Over 30 competitors dipped, dived and ran over 1500m recently at the first ever Aquathon at Craigavon Lakes.
The major challenge was organised by TUNA Triathlon Club in partnership with Craigavon Borough Council.
It was also a part of the Portadown 400 celebrations and sponsored by McKeagney Pharmacy and Apollo Fitmess.
The competitors braved the cold water to swim 400m followed by an intensive 1500m run around the picturesque Lakes. Some competitors were still full of beans following the event and took part in the triple sprint eliminator.
After completing their first event, they lined up to complete another 400m swim and 1500m run.
The top 15 male and female competitors across the line in the second event went through to the final and after another 15 minute break, the finalists raced again to find the male and female champions.

“The event was brilliant and so much fun,” said Kelley.
“We had a great turn out of competitors testing their strength and willpower.
