A body found close to the River Bann last week has been identified as Philip Murphy from the Ardmore area.

The man’s body was discovered last Thursday afternoon by a group of children who were participating in a summer scheme with Cascades Leisure Complex, Portadown.

A police spokeswoman said that at this stage the death is not believed to be suspicious.

The funeral for Philip Murphy took place at Bannfoot Methodist Church on Sunday, followed by interment at Ardmore Parish Church. He is survived by his mother and father Mildred and John, brothers Stephen and David, and sisters Audrey and Wendy.
