The ‘MAIL’ understands that between 100 and 150 youths gathered in the Kilwilkie estate on Saturday night to watch organised fights.
It’s believed there have been a number of such gatherings as a result of an incident which occurred at Halloween.
Police are aware of the ongoing problem with organised fighting in the area.
Neighbourhood police officers, community representatives, local schools and youth providers have appealed to parents to dissuade young people from participating or gathering to watch such activities as the potential for serious injury or fatal consequences is inevitable.
Police said where criminal offences are committed or detected those young people involved will end up with criminal records.
