Lorna Maguire doesn’t have too far to go to find a bottle of bubbly to wet her new baby’s head.

Not only has Lorna been raising a glass to her first daughter Hannah, but she’s also celebrating a year in business with Village Cellars in Donaghcloney.

Last September Lorna and her husband Phil opened the off sales in the village which had previously been trading as Nite’s Inn and set about stamping their own impression on the business

Initial improvements included extensive new lighting and, with Phil’s experience in the licenced trade and Lorna’s smiling face at the counter, business was soon looking up!

They spent the initial months building a strong portfolio of wines, beers, spirits and liqueurs from around the world. If you are looking for something out of the ordinary, please ask and they will do their utmost to source it for you.

With the approach of Christmas Lorna started to make up some hampers which proved very popular, and are now available to order for any occasion.

A gift wrapping service is now also available.

With the recent arrival of Hannah, their first daughter, Lorna has had to take a back seat, and they have employed Ronnie Dougan as store manager, a man with over 25 years experience in the off-licence trade .

The range of products continues to grow and the next development will hopefully be the setting up of a wine club

Anyone interested in joiningshould leave contact details in the store and they will be contacted with further details.

Phil and Lorna took this opportunity to thank everyone who has supported them over the past year and look forward to hopefully meeting more new faces during the next year.
