Charged with receiving stolen goods

A LURGAN man has been returned for trial to the Crown Court on charges of receiving stolen goods.

Sixty eight year old Ali Barakat, of Wheatfield Drive, Lurgan, appeared last Friday at a preliminary enquiry at Craigavon courthouse.

The charges against him allege that between October 17, 2001, and November 4, 2011, he dishonestly received stolen goods, a Dewalt box and corded drill, a grey box containing a Ryobi 24v cordless drill, a red box with two drills, a tractor and a Stihl chainsaw.

He was returned to the Crown Court sitting at Dungannon for arraignment on a date to be fixed.
