Armagh City Choir is celebrating its 30th year with their spring concert on Friday, May 6.
The City Choir will sing Duruflé’s Requiem alongside a selection of Mendelssohn’s pieces during the concert, which takes place at 7:30pm in St Patrick’s Church of Ireland Cathedral.
Philip Scriven, an internationally renowned musician, will be the organist while Brian McAlee, Jenny Hart and Caroline Jones will be the starry soloists on the evening. Michael Harris will conduct.
Armagh City Choir is a cross-community society whose members have been drawn from Armagh and district, the Irish Republic, England, America, France, Germany, Belgium and Scotland. The choir has always sought to promote local talent, with many young soloists given the chance to shine.
After their concert, the choir takes a summer break and practices will resume at 7:30pm on Wednesday 7 September in the Reid Hall, Royal School Armagh. New members are always welcome.
