THE Mayor of Craigavon, Councillor Alan Carson opened the Hub to a diverse audience of both local community representatives, and other statutory agencies on Thursday, November 10.
The Hub has taken five years to complete from research, planning, financially and building and it will be used by customers from Council’s three former community centres as well as the wider Brownlow area and other community based interest groups.
“This is a fabulous centre and real tribute to the Brownlow area,” said the Mayor Councillor Alan Carson, “I’m really proud that this plan has come together so well.”
Inside the Hub there is a multipurpose hall with seating for 300 people. This is suitable for events, plays, conferences or show and even some sports including bowling.
There’s also a range of medium sized rooms for group meetings and activity space such as senior citizens groups, church groups and arts and crafts activities. Community groups can also avail of hotdesking and wifi access.
There’s also a large kitchen for catering which is available to hire for training or teaching purposes and demonstrations.
Customers with disabilities can avail of the Changing Places toilet and changing facility – a first for the Craigavon area.
Upstairs has a range of meeting rooms for groups to hire.
