The Art Of Craft Exhibition returns to The Market Place Theatre in Armagh from April 20 until July 6.
The exhibition features works by 16 of Ireland’s and England’s leading Craft designers, who will exhibit a range of works in ceramics, furniture, glass, jewellery, textiles and other media.
Is it art? Is it craft? This exhibition hopes to answer this much-asked question by challenging and informing the public perception of craft, applied art and design. In addition to the exhibition, the Armagh City Craft Fair takes place from Friday 24 to Saturday 25 May.
This is a weekend to browse craft, buy craft and learn a craft. The fair will feature craft and design stalls, workshops for adults and kids, demonstrations, musical entertainment and much more.
The theatre will also be simultaneously hosting the exhibition, ‘A Darker Hue’, by Wicklow artist Barbara O’Meara, who has exhibited across Ireland, Europe and USA. She here presents a new body of paintings inspired by her interest and investigation of a sunken yew forest on the Irish coastline and the response to the human connection with nature and the fragility of our lives.
Barbara’s exhibition will run from April 19 until Saturday, May 18 in the Market Place Theatre foyer. Admission to all exhibitions is free.
