ON the tot up points system a Lurgan man was banned from driving for nine months last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court.
Forty one year old Jim McCluskey, of Hillcrest, Lurgan, was fined £200 and given eight points for driving without insurance on March 21.
He already had eight points on his licence and this brought his total to 16. On the tot up system he was banned for nine months.
McCluskey was also fined £75 for not having a PSV licence and £25 for failing to produce his driving licence.
The court heard that the offences came to light when the defendant was seen driving on Lake Street. He had taxi licence plates on the side and rear of his vehicle.
Mr Conor Downey, representing the defendant, said McCluskey had a PSV licence up to June 19 last year but had not renewed it.
