Four men in their late teens and early 20s appeared in court on Thursday charged with disorderly behaviour at the annual Sham Fight in Scarva.

John Andrew Boyce (23), Stefan Farrell (22), Matthew Oliver (21) and Reece Aughey (19) all from Co Armagh appeared at Banbridge Magistrates Court, sitting in Newry, in conection with the disorder on July 14.

Boyce, from Primrose Hill in Gilford, is facing a further charge of possessing a lock knife on Scarva Main Street on the same date.

Farrell, from Darling Avenue in Lurgan and Oliver from Sleepy Valley Avenue in Richhill are each accused of resisting police. Oliver is also accused of assaulting a police officer.

They will appear before the court again in two weeks.

Two police officers were hurt and six people were arrested during disturbances at the annual Royal Black Institution’s reenactment of the Battle of the Boyne.

Two teenage boys, who first appeared in court last month but cannot be identified because of their ages, were back in the dock on Thursday.
