Spate of early morning burglaries

A spate of early morning burglaries has blighted a Lurgan housing development, the PSNI has said.

Three burglaries have been reported in the Collingwood Drive area of the town.

The PSNI said at least two of them happened between 5.15am and 5.30am this morning (Wednesday).

On the PSNI Craigavon Facebook page, police said: “Again, for at least two of these, the burglar was able to walk through an unlocked back door.

“Folks PLEASE spread the word about making it more difficult for burglars. If they have to break something to get in, there’s far more chance of someone hearing something and us being able to catch them in the act. More so, there’s far more chance of them simply moving on and finding somewhere that is insecure. LOCK UP. Take time to speak to neighbours and family members to make sure they do the same.

“Do you live in the area? Did you see or hear anything in the early hours of this morning? Maybe a car driving off or a person on foot leaving the area? Have you heard since who was responsible? If so, Detective V would love to hear from you.

“Call her on 101, or alternatively you can speak anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111. The incident number is 148 of today, 21/06/17.”
