Ten-strong gang target pair in ‘random attack’

A TEN-strong gang attacked two people in William Street with one man receiving serious injuries.

A 32-year-old man and his friend were attacked by up to ten men around the area of a chinese takeaway and a local bar.

“At this stage, the assault appears to be a random attack,” said the PSNI.

The injured man received two black eyes, a cracked eye socket, and nerve damage to his cheek which may not fully heal, bruised head, cuts and bruises to his arms and legs.

The incident happened on Sunday 6 May sometime between 10:45pm and 11:30pm.
