Ms Lockhart said: “I have just received the terrible news that a good friend was robbed tonight in Victor Place, Dollingstown.

“Whilst out at the deaf club her house was ransacked and valuables stolen! The lady is deaf and this has left her shaken and devastated! Anyone with any information please contact the PSNI.”

She went on: “Please be vigilant and watch out for your elderly vulnerable neighbours.

“I am calling for increased patrols in the area and will be speaking with community reps about extending the Neighbourhood watch zone.”
