A 45-year-old woman was put on probation for 12 months at Craigavon Magistrates Court for assaulting a female on October 22 this year.
She was Diane Collins, Wentworth Green, Portadown.
The case had been adjourned from a previous court for a pre-sentence report.
No details of the offence were outlined at last week’s court.
A barrister representing the defendant said the report was fairly detailed and she had shown remorse. She was never likely to appear back in court, added the barrister.
District Judge, Mrs Bernie Kelly, said this was a very serious matter.
She added that she was upset to find that ‘females behave like animals’ and that the defendant was meant to be a carer and a role model for two children.
But, she added, that given the defendant’s plea she would deal with the matter with a community based disposal.
A probation order for 12 months was imposed.
