A device was thrown at police in the Drumbeg area of Craigavon earlier today.

Police were conducting a search in the area at around 10 am this morning Monday, May 28 when a device was thrown.

None of the police officers were injured.

Local neighbourhood Inspector Philip Shepherd said: “Those who carried out this attack have shown callous disregard for the safety of the local community and my officers, especially as a number of children were close by at the time of the attack.”

Anyone who has any information about this incident should contact police at Craigavon on 0845 600 8000. Or, if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
