Disqualified driver is banned again

Having previously been disqualified from driving a 71-year-old man was banned again last Friday at Craigavon Magistrates Court.

Francis Joseph Mallon, Ardowen, Craigavon, was fined £200 and banned for six months for driving without insurance on July 1 this year.

He was also fined £50 and given a concurrent ban for driving while unaccompanied and not displaying ‘L’ plates.

He was stopped at a vehicle checkpoint on the Brownlow Road, Craigavon, and a check revealed there was no insurance in place.

Following a previous period of disqualification Mallon had not re-taken the driving test and was only a previous licence holder.

Mr Conor Downey, defending, said his client fully accepted he would be facing a further period of disqualification
