GLENFIELD Road in Lurgan is a disgrace and needs resurfacing urgently, says Mayor Carla Lockhart.

The Craigavon DUP councillor told the Mail: “I have been inundated with residents complaining and rightly so about this disgraceful road surface that they have been subjected too for many years.

“This road surface has been worsening and is currently in an awful state of repair. This particular stretch of road along with others in the vicinity were at a time a purely concrete base roads, a layer of bitumen was placed on them many years ago and as a result of the heavy flow of traffic it has worn off leaving the surface uneven and riddled with pot holes.

“Having spoken with Road Service and having taken them on a drive and a walk of the road I know that they are well aware of this fact and I certainly will be pushing them to take action and resurface it as soon as possible.”

“Road Service cannot deny the state of this road and I am asking that they come up with the money to resurface it. Other areas are afforded this luxury and it is time for the people of Mourneview to be heard on this matter.”
