A mound of earth at a Lurgan housing development which attracted vermin has been cleaned up after a long battle.
The mound, at Silverwood Leaves, had become an eyesore to residents and caused serious concern when it became a dumping ground. The illegal dump also attracted rats and other pests and residents campaigned with local SDLP Cllr Declan McAlinden to have it cleaned up.
“This was the cause of great concern and distress with many residents especially those with small kids,” said Cllr McAlinden. He and his colleagues Cllr Joe Nelson and SDLP MLA Dolores Kelly praised the relevant authorities for sorting out this ‘unsightly mound’.
