Big Weekend for Moira

Five churches have joined forces to stage Moira's Big weekend.

It’s a first for the village and the churches involved are St John’s Church of Ireland, Moira Presbyterian, Methodist, Baptist and Pentecostal.

The weekend kicks off on the Friday, June 10, with a special event for primary schools running from 10am to 12.30pm. A large marquee will be set up and children from the village’s two primary schools have been invited to a fun filled morning.

On the Friday night from 7.30pm to 11pm an acoustic cafe takes over the marquee. Acts include Lurgan’s Andi Oakes, James Adamson and Steve Parson. Bishop Ken Clarke will give the epilogue.

Saturday sees the Big Family Festival with lots of activities for all ages running from 3pm to 6pm. The acoustic cafe will run again on the Saturday night from 7pm to 11pm.

An inter-church service takes place at 11am on the Sunday with a picnic in the park at 1pm - bring your own picnic (barbecue supplied).
