The recent BigFestive Fry held at St Saviour’s Church, Dollingstown in aid of Charlene’s Project proved to be a huge success.

The hall was packed for the tasty fries all served up by a willing army of volunteers in the kitchen.

Ulster Unionist MLA Jo-Anne Dobson praised those who helped or supported the event.

“It’s always heart-warming to see how local people come out in number every year to support the legacy of a young lady who will forever live on because of the generosity and support of local people,” she said.

“What a wonderful opportunity for fellowship and friendship together while supporting the fantastic work of Charlene’s Project – creating better futures in Uganda.

“The hundreds of local people who came along to support this worthy cause helped to make the event another huge success, raising over £17,000 for Charlene’s Project.

“This terrific support is evidence of the high regard which Dickie and Janice Barr and their family are held in.”
