Mr McConville, who was a member of Clann Eireann GAC, died suddenly on New Year’s Day.

“Michael was an extremely popular, well loved member of our club and his loss is devastating to everyone who knew him.

“He was involved in many facets of our Club from the youth and social club to playing underage and senior football and in more recent times taking up a coaching role, a role which he particularly enjoyed.

“Michael will be forever remembered for his huge smile and his unquestionable passion for his club, the club he loved and that loved him.

“Just this past season he helped coach the U-16 boys team to Armagh and Ulster glory as well as being part of the senior squad which were crowned League & Championship winners.

“The club’s committee and members wish to extend our deepest sympathies to the McConville and McDonald families on the death of Michael.

“Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam uasal.

“The family have requested that no flowers be sent but donations can be made instead to PIPS.”
