A couple will be sentenced next month at Craigavon Magistrates Court for a shoplifting offence.

Vygandas Petrylia (39) and Jolanta Petryliene (37), both of Watson Street, Portadown, pleaded guilty at an earlier court to the theft of drinking flasks valued at £15 from TK Maxx on January 9 this year.

They also faced charges of going equipped to steal but pleaded not guilty to them.

Last Wednesday at Craigavon Magistrates Court these charges were withdrawn by the prosecution.

District Judge, Mr Mervyn Bates, said as there were previous convictions involved he would require a pre-sentence report.

He adjourned sentencing until May 11 so that a report could be obtained.
