Already the Brownlow College teacher has returned to Lurgan with a BAFTA after writing the celebrated short film Boogaloo and Graham.

The film is shortlisted in the live action short category of the Oscars.

Dr Blaney spoke to the ‘MAIL’ last week ahead of his flight to LA where he will be wining and dining with Hollywood’s finest.

He spoke of the glittering night at the BAFTAs in London and what inspired him to write the award-winning script.

The film, directed by Michael Lennox is set in 1970s Belfast.

Boogaloo and Graham is about two young boys who discover the facts of life with the help of their pet chickens.

This year’s Academy awards ceremony will be held tonight Sunday 22 February at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

Good luck to Ronan at the Oscars.
