Indecent assault

TWO women escaped after one was indecently assaulted in an attack in the Tannaghmore Gardens area.

The women, who were walking along public paths close to the gardens and the Ballynamoney Road were approached by a hooded man on Sunday morning around 11.30am.

According to police, the man asked the two women for help and directions.

“The male went on to grab one of the females and touched her inappropriately. She managed to get away from him and the two females ran off towards nearby houses,” said a police spokesperson.

He is described as around 16 or 17 years old, 5ft 2in tall, of slim build with short, brown hair and blue eyes. He was wearing black tracksuit bottoms, a black zip up jacket with a grey hoodie with green trim underneath.

The man put his hood up before approaching the females and spoke with a local accent.
