A 26-year-old man was given a three month prison sentence last Friday at Craigavon Magistates Court for stealing vodka and Buckfast.
Christopher Anthony Hughes, Ardowen, Craigavon, appeared in court by way of videolink from Magaberry prison.
He admitted the theft of four bottles of Buckfast from DBees in Lurgan on July 18 and stealing a bottle of vodka from Tescos on August 12 this year.
For each offence he was sentenced to three months in custody with the terms to run concurrently.
The court heard on July 19 he went into DBees and took four bottles of Buckfast and left the premises.
He was identified by police from the CCTV coverage.
Just after 6pm on August 12 Hughes went into Tescos in Lurgan.
He was seen on CCTV to lift a bottle of vodka, put it down his trouser leg and leave without paying.
Mr Conor Downey, representing the defendant, said Hughes was on remand in custody on other matters.
He said his client had previous similar convictions and accepted there was an inevitable conclusion to these matters.
District Judge, Mrs Bernie Kelly, said it was not feasible to consider a community option so there was only one penalty she could impose.
