Comhaltas Clanbrassil Branch in association with Scoil Rince Fionn present a Jigs and Reels dance competition at the INF Club on Saturday, June 14.

The event starts at 8pm and features eight couples taking to the dance floor in an Irish Dance type competition.

There will be guest musicians and Irish Dancers also performing.

This is a fundraising event as the CCB have been selected to host the County Armagh Fleadh in Lurgan this year from the June 27 to 29.

The competition is fierce and couples having been practicing really hard over the last few weeks at top secret locations to make sure that their opposing couples don’t get an opportunity to find out what they are going to produce on the dance floor on the June 14.

Each pair has an experienced Irish Dancer paired of with a complete novice.

St Brendan’s Primary School teacher and former Irish Dancer Una Mallon is dancing with Eire Og player Stephen Lavery.

Marie McCorry from St Anthony’s Primary School and former Irish Dancer is paired of with well known milkman Ian O’Hagan. Ian is no stranger to the dance floor having won Craigavon Strictly Dancing in 2006. However Ian is recovering from a hamstring injury due to his efforts in trying to Irish Dance.

St Michael’s Grammar School Student and Irish Dancer Caitriona Breen will be dancing with Anthony Smith,

Ciara McConville is paired of with Kevin Larkin and Denise McBride will be dancing with Colin Donnelly.

Lismore teacher Shauna Lennon will be dancing with Patrick Sherridan.

Former Eire Og player Conan Martin is paired off with Irish Dancing teacher Fionnuala McInerney, who are the bookies favourites but anything could happen on the night.

Admission to the event is £7.50. Tickets can be purchased from any Comhaltas member, The Courthouse Bar or Eire Og GFC. Call the box office on 0774 040 2325.
